WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Yes, Sound FX did win the finals and are now the 2016 Show Choir National Champions.   We are so proud of Justin and all the Los Alamitos Sound FX for their amazing performance.   Mr. David Moellenkamp, their director is the absolute best ever and it's no wonder that with his genius and the kids talent they won!

The advanced all women's group, Sound Trax also won National Champions in their division!  UNbelievable performance as well.  Justin's girlfriend, Kari is in this group and we are soooo proud of her!  She is a wonderful performer - the kind you can't take your eyes off!

I guess we don't realize just how good they are until we see all the other show choirs they compete against!  Those choirs are amazing as well, but even they (the performers and their parents) comment on our Show Choirs and how they strive to be like them!

National Show Choir Competition Update

Yes, tomorrow we leave for Nashville and are we excited!!!!!

Sadly, for those of you that were looking forward to the chance to livestream the competition it will not be possible. National Show Choir is not livestreaning it this year.  We will update you on the results of the co9mpetition and plan to pick up the DVD, which they will be selling.  We can make that available to anyone that wants to see it and still owns a DVD player!  UGHHHHHH!

There will portions and maybe all of it posted on YouTube as well!  You can look for it at Los Alamitos Show Choir "Sound FX" National Show Choir Competition 2016.

Gotta go pack - Off to Nashville!

SCHOOL . . .Begins

Can you believe it . . .school began and I am not even sure where the summer went.

Let's see . . . we did try to accomplish a 100 item Summer Bucket List (about 20 -30 of which were items we knew we would do anyway!) and we only managed to complete about 70 out of the 100.  But, we did try and had fun doing the things we managed to get done!

We also took three summer trips that kind of zapped some of our lazy days of summer.  Dallas Texas, though hot and muggy, was a chance to catch up with the David side of the family, then Seattle and Vancouver allowed me to catch up with my "love of nature" side, and last but not least a week in hot (but not nearly as hot as usual) Palm Springs where the kids brought friends and caught up with their ever growing need for independence side!  They were off swimming and enjoying the resort on their own - meeting other teens - having fun - worrying the parents!!!

Anyway . . school began and Justin had his first days at high school and his first high school dance last Friday night. He is definitely beginning to understand what it means to be a freshman.

Andrea started back at her middle school as an eighth grader or as we say BGOC - Big Girl On Campus!

Both love their classes and have been fun catching up with friends they had not seen over summer

So here they are - the first day of school!  Definitely not little kiddos anymore!!!
